FAQs
Book a face-to-face or virtual consultation with us, and we’ll conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your – or your older relative’s – care needs and preferences.
We consider multiple factors, including current living arrangements, health conditions, support systems in place, and social preferences.
During this consultation, we also provide general advice about options and funding implications. You get a follow-up report on our findings and a call to answer any questions you might have.
Following the assessment, we undertake a thorough research exercise based on the bespoke requirements of the person we represent and advocate for.
We provide a shortlist of independent recommendations on how we believe you – or your loved ones – care needs can be met. The list is based on several factors, including the services provided by the care provider, reviews and ratings, pricing and availability.
These recommendations could include suggestions for care or nursing homes, resources to help adapt an existing home environment, or home care options. We also arm you with a checklist should you wish to explore our options yourself, and we will follow up with a call to discuss our recommendations further.
Once you’ve considered our recommendations, we coordinate with care providers to organise a visit to a care home setting. More than that, we accompany you if that’s what you’d like.
We know that considering a move like this can be emotional for everyone. It brings the reality of getting older into sharp focus.
But with our team at your side, we aim to minimise distress and answer all your questions by leveraging our decades of healthcare experience.
Following any visits, we regroup to compare notes and assess your feelings about what you’ve seen.
Once you or your older relative has found a care home you want to move to, our experienced team will help you get your place and prepare you for the next step on your life journey.
Moving to a care home involves several crucial tasks, with lots of loose ends to tie up, but we’re here to help with as much as you need us to.
From securing funding and coordinating dates to liaising with estate agents, solicitors, utility providers, and removal companies, we aim to alleviate any upheaval and reduce the stress of this life-changing move.
Our expert team can play a pivotal role in helping you or your loved one to settle into their new home environment.
Check-ins during the early stages to monitor adjustment and address initial concerns or needs provide a tremendous sense of relief to family members.
We also act as a liaison between the older individual, their family, and the care home staff to resolve any issues related to their care or integration into their new setting.
Customised support can be organised after that if you need the iCare team on an ongoing basis.
